Training Updates

Training has been going Great! It has been really fun getting back into the swing of things and I am really grateful that even with all of my time off, my body is recovering quickly and returning to where it once was.

Last Sunday (Jan 27) I had my first long run in several weeks. I had decided to try for somewhere in the 6 to 8 mile range, and was able to finish the 8 with no prorblem. I kept the speed relatively low and just focused on my form which I feel has improved greatly since I first began running.

All of last week went exactly as I had planned. Aside for some workouts happening after work instead of before, I was able to get all of the workouts I wanted in last week and was able to complete them with speeds/times/efforts I was satisfied with. Definitely making me happy.

This past Sunday, I put in 10 miles before the Super Bowl. I am very happy that I was able to get through the distance and felt that I could have continued if I wanted. I am very happy with my form and how well my body is taking the workouts. I have not been sore really and have been feeling better even during my runs.

I am continuing to focus on my run training while I train for Rock’n’Roll USA half marathon. I am swimming once a week and biking twice while weight training twice as well. After the half in the beginning of March, I will begin to get 3 runs, 3 bikes, 2 swims and 2 days of weights in as I prepare for the Ironman.
